Edmonton Hotel Macdonald Wedding
Kailee and Tim’s beautiful wedding took place at the Hotel Macdonald here in Edmonton, and though the weather wasn’t perfect the whole time, they still had the best day! From a casual, relaxed morning, to having their dog play a part in their wedding ceremony (have I mentioned dog people are my favourite people?), everything about their wedding was true to who they are as a couple. The bride wore a necklace with a small bean on it (for their pup) and they made time in the afternoon to stop by for a visit. Pets are part of the family too, and I love seeing all of the ways they can be included in a wedding day!
What I admired most about Kailee and Tim was their positive attitude. Part way through their outdoor portraits, the dark skies opened up and it began to rain. Instead of letting it bother them or stopping, Kailee lifted her dress and stepped out into the rain. “We’re doing this anyway!”
It’s that kind of positivity that is so contagious. All four of us got soaked, but it was completely worth it. There was no lack of laughter or smiles from Kailee and Tim, and we then made our way back to the hotel for a short break.
If the weather takes a turn during your wedding day, just go with it. The weather is literally one of the only things that you do not have any control over at any point in your life, so why worry now? The professionals you hire will take care of any adjustments for you – that’s our whole job! Take some advice from Newt Scamander: “My philosophy is that worrying means you suffer twice.”
Kailee and Tim’s reception space, the Empire Ballroom, was filled wall-to-wall with their loved ones. There were many rounds of tears and laughter shared throughout the speeches. The evening ended with everyone (even the grandparents!) hitting the dancefloor!
