boudoir videography

Lazy Sundays | Edmonton Boudoir photographer

During my less busy off-season, I always try to challenge myself in some way. I’m a firm believer in the fact that you never really are supposed to stop learning new things. One of the things that inspired me to make a video was working with a videographer while shooting Sam and Roland’s Paris engagement sessions. Watching him work was inspiring, not only because I admire those that can create wedding videos, but because he inspired me to try new things in my photography. Each medium requires different skills and different ‘eyes’ to see the end result. It stuck with me while we were shooting.

When Katie announced that she would be doing a beginners videography course, I jumped at the opportunity to learn! Over 6 weeks, we discussed inspiration, techniques and post-processing. It was a great format to be held accountable to your goals. One aspect I enjoyed was being able to learn and get feedback from the same group of people each week. Owning your own business can be sort of a lonely thing, so talking with other creatives that had like-minded goals was something I loved. I didn’t realize I missed school until the course was finished and I found myself missing our weekly lessons haha!

Ashley was a great help to me when it came time to shoot our video. I wanted to keep the mood of the shoot exactly how a wintery Sunday morning would feel. Sitting at home with the dog in comfy clothes (and no pants haha), delicious coffee, a crackling fire, and good books.

Please enjoy, and let me know your thoughts! Is this something you can see yourself doing? I’d be happy to create with you! Be sure to watch full screen with the sound on.
